Programs at The Eagle Center for Learning

Please contact us for the current schedule of activities applicable for the age of your child. New groups are always forming.

Private Tutoring

tutoring

We provide one–on–one instruction designed to meet specific learning goals. Your child will meet with the same tutor for each session so that consistent instruction takes place. We will assess your child's learning style to capitalize on their strengths and plan strategy instruction to address their specific needs.

We work with students on all skill levels and we have experience/education in working with students with learning differences.

Writing Workshops

Writing workshops provide small group instruction in all of the steps of the writing process. Classes are designed to teach organization, vocabulary development and mechanics through a variety of writing activities.

Students are grouped by age and ability level. Classes are for one hour and each class focuses on a particular writing skill. For the older students, classes concentrate on writing research papers. In addition to classes after school and on weekends, classes are scheduled during the day for homeschooling families.

Literary Circles

Students read selected parts of assigned books on their own. The group meets to participate in activities designed to enhance the reading experience. Activities are planned to teach about the historical or social context of the reading selection.

Groups are available for various age levels. In addition to classes after school and on weekends, classes are scheduled during the day for homeschooling families.

Enrichment Activities

Activities are available on school holidays and during the summer. Workshops are designed to introduce and support interests in the arts and hobbies. Classes are available in sewing, various craft activities, hobbies and writing.

Summer Learning

The Summer Learning programs provide small group instruction in reading, writing and math. Class size is limited to six students and lessons are designed to maintain academic skills. Schedules are flexible to allow families to choose to attend the weeks best suited to the family's schedule.
